Junior Sedan Tyre Clarification – Effective Immediately

Please be advised that the Board of Speedway Sedans Australia has banned the use of specialty ‘street legal race tyres’ in its Junior Sedan Class competition – EFFECTIVELY IMMEDIATELY.

This ban includes but is not restricted to, Dunlop Formula-R and Yokohama Advan tyres, which the SSA Board regard as race type tyres specifically made for public road competition and, therefore outside of Rule 29 (e) and (g) of the Junior Sedan class Specification Book 2011, which state –

(e) Racing tyres are NOT PERMITTED

(g) Any tyres listed on a Manufacturer’s  ‘Specialist’ tyre list…………..are NOT PERMITTED

The SSA will conduct further future investigations into this matter.
