NSSS NSW Local Hero for Dubbo Award

08/09/09…NASR National Office

Whilst the 2009/2010 Carline Mufflers National Super Sedan Series will only make one stop-over in New South Wales, round four at Dubbo’s Morris Park Speedway is shaping up as an extra special event.  Courtesy of the Speedway Sedan Association of New South Wales, local competitors will have plenty of incentive to take on the series stars on Saturday, January 2. The introduction of the SSANSW Local Hero Award will see a $200 cash bonus awarded to the highest qualifying non-contracted driver from New South Wales. Furthermore, every non-contracted driver from the host state who takes part will pick up a $100 bonus.

The SSANSW Local Hero is a terrific new innovation for the fifth-anniversary season and should entice a big field of challengers from across New South Wales to the ultra-fast new Dubbo circuit.  Last year, Tania Smith and Darrell McKeown were the only NSW-based non-contracted competitors to contest the Dubbo fixture and both drivers acquitted themselves extremely well to finish inside the top ten.  In fact, their performances – along with the cash incentives now on offer – should have all the NSW stars brimming with confidence and ready to upstage the series regulars.

Of course, the real winners from this will be the spectators.  A massive crowd filled the complex last season and no doubt the lure of a star studded field will again see race fans out in force to support an even stronger line-up of local stars taking on the interstate invaders.

The SSANSW Local Hero is the latest in a series of exciting announcements for the 2009/2010 Carline Mufflers National Super Sedan Series.  For the latest news and information about the series, visit the official series website at www.nationalsupersedanseries.com
