Super Sedan Title Gympie 2008 after Practice
03/05/08…Pam Franz
Friday night saw the Mountain come alive with the roar of V8 Super Sedans as they pounded around the track endeavouring to secure the best set ups available. The new clay surface provided some entertaining action and NO DUST. No need for the water truck so the track was grippy throughout.
Around 15 cars were present. Victorian Ash Bergmeier soon got a handle on the track and seemed to enjoy his laps. Local Gympie driver Gary Pagel was seen frequently on the track ensuring his car is going to perform at its best over the two nights. Steve Pearce looked quick in his red Amazing Signs sponsored car. Rockhampton’s Chris Bussey was lightening – he was having first hit out since the huge crash at Blackwater 2 weeks ago.
Field of cars to start the event tonight will be – Bevan Collins, Michael Tomkins, Steve Pearce, Jack Childs, Darren Hawkings, Alex Jenner, Damien Bugler, Geoff Bingham, Steve Jordan, Don Birt, Matt Pascoe, Gavin Northfield, Ash Bergmeier, Peter Warren, Craig Torr, Russell Dobson, Darren Kane, Geoff O’Keeffe, Dean Hawkins, Lee Noon, Barry Craft, Tim O’Shea, Frank Armstrong, Chris Bussey, Alan Robertson, Chris Albert and Gary Pagel.
This page will be updated during both nights of racing – so stay tuned. Full results will be uploaded to www.mylaps.com at the completion of each nights racing.
