Shocks Galore for National Series

17/11/07…NASR/ASCF Media Release

Wayne Randall has been a significant figure in the success of the National Super Sedan Series, supporting the series as a competitor and sponsor from the outset.  In addition to emerging as the series champion in both of the series staged thus far, Randall has also been a sponsor of the series as proprietor of AFCO Shock Doctor. As the defending series champion, Randall has again secured a berth as a contracted driver for the 2007/2008 championship and has confirmed his continued corporate support of the series.

As the only authorised AFCO repairer in Australia, AFCO Shock Doctor can provide a comprehensive service that includes testing, diagnosing, repairing and re-valving of all AFCO shock absorbers.  With access to enormous amounts of data courtesy of their status as an approved AFCO repairer, the Shock Doctor can offer extensive testing and diagnosis capabilities that enables an accurate evaluation of which parts may need to be replaced to maintain maximum efficiency.  Such detailed assessment also ensures that competitors have a solid understanding of their shock absorber performance. AFCO Shock Doctor use only genuine AFCO replacement parts, a service that nobody else in Australia can offer.

Furthermore, Randall is now also an authorised repairer for Pro Shocks, creating an expanded service for customers and making AFCO Shock Doctor the one-stop shop for shock absorber service and repairs.  As a team owner, Randall is acutely aware of the increasing costs associated with Super Sedan racing and is keen to ensure that there are prizes and incentives on offer for those competitors who may not necessarily finish at the front of the field at each round.

AFCO Shock Doctor is supporting two major awards throughout the 2007/2008 National Super Sedan Series with more than $2000 worth of prizes up for grabs.  At each round of the series, AFCO Shock Doctor will be sponsoring the Lucky Seven’s Award, with the driver who finishes seventh in each feature race picking up a full service and repair package on any two AFCO or Pro Shocks shock absorbers valued at more than $150.00.  The Lucky Seven’s Award is a significant gesture that will ensure all drivers have plenty of incentive to attend as many rounds as possible.

Further motivation for drivers to attend as many rounds as possible is the AFCO Best and Fairest Award that carries a first prize of $500.  Second place will receive a brand new AFCO twin tube shock absorber, or the equivalent from the Pro Shocks range, with valving to individual specifications.  The Chief Steward, in consultation with race officials, will allocate points on a 3-2-1 basis at each round, with the winner of the AFCO Best and Fairest announced at the Trophy Presentation dinner in Adelaide on January 20.  In confirming his continued support of this award, Randall emphasised that ‘this prize is about recognising and rewarding those drivers who not only achieve good results, but also conduct themselves in a professional manner’.  The best and fairest concept is synonymous with almost all other sports – the AFL’s Brownlow Medal for example – and such an award plays a key role in ensuring recognition for those competitors who understand the importance of a positive and professional attitude and strive to maintain high standards in both behaviour and performance.

The AFCO Shock Doctor can repair and re-valve any AFCO or Pro Shocks alloy shock absorber for Super Sedans, Sprintcars, Dirt Modifieds and virtually any open wheel or sedan category in Australia, with set-up confidentiality assured at all times.  For more information about the range of quality services available at AFCO Shock Doctor, contact Wayne Randall by phoning (07) 3297 1284 or 0407 154680.
