RIP Neville Harper

01/09/08…Pam Franz

The QSCA Executive Comittee on behalf of all speedway competitors in Qld wish to extend their deepest sympathy to the Harper Family from Tasmania on the passing of Neville Harper on Sunday 31st August.

Neville Harper is a past President of the ASCF/SSA and The Tasmanian Saloon Car Federation.  Prior to holding important administration roles Neville was a successful Super Sedan competitor all over Australia.

Neville was a true gentleman in our sport and commanded considerable respect from all who were priveleged to know him.  Neville was fond of a chat and could recount many speedway tales from his many years involvement.

Neville has been followed in speedway by is son, Jarrod, who has kept the Harper flag flying in many cases both in Tasmania and on the mainland.  Jarrod’s most notable recent success was a 3rd place at the 2008 National Super Sedan Title held at Mildura, Neville had the pleasure of being the Grand Marshall for this event and waved the 20 car field away which contained Jarrod.

Neville has been called to the great speedway in the sky and will be guiding from a-far.
