To assist in improving the professionalism of our sport and the development of safer speedway venues across Australia, QBE – in conjunction with the Speedway Australia Public Liability Scheme – are once again providing the opportunity for a limited number of Speedway Australia Insured Tracks to receive a financial grant.

QBE Insurance has a very strong commitment in assisting Speedway Australia and the sport of speedway, in improving the standard of venues around the country.

In response to Speedway Australia’s continuing emphasis on safety and risk management, QBE has once again offered a total of $50,000 in grant funds for the scheme in 2014/15.

This is an opportunity for clubs and track promoters to submit a grant application for up to $5,000 – outlining how it wishes to improve the safety and risk management standards of its venue.

Consideration will be given to track improvements such as enhancing safety fences, improving the safety of spectator areas, safety signage, flood lighting, installation of racing lights, upgrading fire safety equipment and other risk management improvements.

Projects for which grants are being requested must be measurable and must directly relate to risk management improvements of your speedway venue.

Your grant application must address:

The specific purpose of the project;
The total cost of materials for the project (quotations and supplier details);
The benefits of the project; and,
The start/end dates of the project.

Applications for Speedway Australia QBE Risk Management Track Grants must be received at Speedway Australia Head Office before close of business Friday 31 October 2014.

For information, please contact General Manager, Jeff Krebbekx, at Speedway Australia via jeff@speedwayaustralia.net.au or on (08) 8139 0777.
