NSSS Tyre Rule Change

02/07/11…NSSS Media Release

Series organisers have announced a change to the control tyre regulations for the 2011/2012 Carline Mufflers National Super Sedan Series.  Since its inception, the NSSS has always utilised a minimum compound tyre rule in an effort to reduce costs for competitors and create a level playing field amongst participating teams.

After research and comparison between brands, an adjustment has been made to the minimum compounds permitted, as series Manager Tony Parkinson explains – “After researching and conducting durometer tests, the minimum compound to be used on the   right-hand-side rear wheel must be either an American Racer SD44 or Hoosier 1300.  However, harder tyres from either manufacturer may be used”.

The amended rule – which stipulates a minimum compound of either an American Racer SD44 or Hoosier 1300 on the right rear wheel – will take effect from the opening round of the 2011/2012 Carline Mufflers National Super Sedan Series at Gympie’s Mothar Mountain Speedway on Thursday, January 29.
