Results of the racing from Maryborough Speedway last night for Street Sedans and Modified Productions have been uploaded to http://qsca.mylaps.com (or follow the link from the links page).

It was an exciting nights racing to begin what is obviously going to be a huge 2008/09 season in Qld for both Street Sedans and Modified Productions.  Many new names have been added to both divisions and already are up there challenging the seasoned competitors.

A new track record was set last night in the Street Sedan division by Keryn Goodwin with a 16.536, closely followed by Chris Elliot with a 16.557.  Neil Harm was the victor for the night in the A Main – full results on My Laps.

The Fraser Coast Modified Prodution 3 round mini Series got under way with a strong field of 14 cars.  Gympe’s Glenn Pagel won the A Main and stole the show.  Brisbane’s Garry Maroske had a brilliant run in the heats with 3 wins and followed Pagel home close in third place.  A return to the track for Adrian Stott saw him notich up success as well, Stott completed the A Main in 2nd.

Glennn Pagel’s fastest lap was 15.724 followed by Dale Grotherr who only competed in 1 heat and the  A Main due to difficulties getting to the track recorded a 15.803 and Adrian Stott a 15.825.

Congratulations to all who raced in both these divisions – last night was the first time competitors were required to fit their own transponder – you all did very well – every transponder read with no difficulties.

In answer to those who enquired as to why the $10 hire fee is charged – by hiring transponders it will allow the QSCA to purchase further transponders to enable all major events are electronically timed ensuring an accurate result for all competitors.  Last nights hire income will fund the purchase of three quarters of another transponder.  Through the generosity of the Maryborough Sporting Car Club there was no cost to the QSCA for the personnel to operate the technology and one Maryborough lap scoring had the opportunity to begin to learn the use of the technology.

For those who wish to purchase their own transponder they are available for individual purchase either through the QSCA or directly from www.amb-it.com
