Maryborough Opens with a Huge Field

Maryborough Speedway will open it’s gates for the beginning of the 2008/09 speedway season next Saturday night with a huge night of speedway.  You could be forgiven for feeling confused as to what time of the year it is – this would be the biggest first official race meeting of any season in many years.

117 tow vehicles will bring drivers pride and joys to the speedway to begin the new season.

The Fraser Coast Modified Production Series which will be held over 3 rounds begins with a healthy 16 car field nominated to do battle.  Supporting the Modifieds will be 31 Street Sedans, 12 Junior Street Sedans, 20 Junior Sedans, 12 4 Cylinders, 10 Nostalgia Sedans and 16 Formula 500’s.

Maryborough Speedway gates will open at 1pm with racing from 4pm.  To add to the huge fields there will be a Monster Truck demonstration and 2 huge fire works displays.

This will be night not to miss.
