Maryborough Speedway is geared up to host the richest Modified Production event this weekend with the running of the 2011 Australian Open.  The weather has put this event in jeopardy over the past days but the rain has cleared through and the sun is shining on Maryborough with no rain having been received since Wednesday.

Due to the difficulties endured by a lot of people from the huge amounts of rain received the original nomination list of 80 Modified Productions is expected to be a little less.  Victoria’s Mark Carlin is a definite starter however as he raced at Mothar Mountain last night, Townsville’s Chris Jensen was sited at Mothar Mountain spectating last night also.

Competitors are asked to notify Ryno on 0407 175 341 of their definite committment to compete in the Australian Open as the draw has been held over till Saturday morning at 10am to ensure the fairest racing can be provided for all drivers and a great spectacle for the patrons.  Scrutineering will begin at 10am on Saturday and racing from 5pm.
