The rain has once again interferred with speedway race meetings scheduled for this weekend. This time it is Qld tracks being forced into the position of making decisions based on weather predictions for the next few days.
Maryborough Speedway was hosting Junior Sedans, V8 Dirt Modifieds, Lightning Sprints and Midgets – competitors were coming from far and wide to attend this meeting of Open Wheel madness and with the continued wet weather it has been decided to cancel the weekends events.
Maryborough are looking forward to the Australian Open for Modified Productions being held over the New Year weekend of 1st and 2nd January 2011. These two nights are supported by Nostalgia Sedans and Super Street Sedans and Fireworks. To kick off a great weekend there will be a trackside New Years Eve party from 7pm – all speedway supporters are welcome – cost $5 each to cover the cost of light snack foods.
Mac’s Speedway in Mackay has had so many speedway meetings washed out they have lost count and once again have made the decision to cancel this weekend. With the wet season now set in earlier than usual in the tropical north there will be no further racing scheduled at Mac’s Speedway until March 2011.
