Jonic Wins Qld Junior Sedan Title

Aride Jonic has prevailed, and has taken out a thrilling Queensland Junior Sedan Title, at the Fraser Shores Maryborough Speedway, surviving two late stoppages to claim his first Queensland Title, to go with his Tasmanian and Northern Territory Title.
Jonic didn’t have it all his own way, with nothing separating the top four throughout the twenty lap main event.
Jonic and Casey O’Connell would start on the front row, while Jack Cameron and Joel Curd would start on row two, while defending Champion Casey Collins would start on row six.
While O’Connell took the lead it would be Collins who would make the most significant moves early, moving to fourth after just four laps, as the defending champion was clear that he was not going to give the title up without a fight.
On lap eight, Collins passed Jack Cameron to move to third, and along with O’Connell and Jonic, the four drivers put on a great race, in difficult track conditions after continual rain during the week.
The decisive move from Jonic would occur at the half way mark, when he took the lead, while Collins moved to second with four laps remaining. The final four laps would be disrupted by two heavy crashes, the worst being with Dakota Laverty. Upon the resumption, nothing separated Jonic and Collins, as has been the case all season, but Jonic would prevail to win his first Queensland Title, defeating a gallant Collins, with O’Connell and Cameron finishing third and fourth respectively.
