A two lap stint driving around the outside of Kodee Brown, Darren Kane and Ryan Alexander has been the catalyst to a brilliant win by Matt Pascoe, in the West Australian Super Sedan Title, at the Kalgoorlie Case & Drill, Kalgoorlie International Speedway.

The thirty five lap final would start with Ryan Alexander and Darren Kane starting on the front row, while Matt Pascoe and Dustin Higgs would start on row number two.

Alexander immediately took the lead, but it amounted to naught with Rob Knox spinning in turn three, which ultimately would see Knox take no further part in the event.

On the resultant restart, Alexander again took the lead from Kane, with Pascoe third, but on lap three, both Pascoe and Dave Gartner were passed by Kodee Brown in turn two, in a great three way move.   Gartner would then pass Pascoe who dropped to fifth after ten laps.

Pascoe then started to make his move, first passing Gartner to move back to fourth, and then in a two lap swoop, passed Brown, Kane and Alexander to take the lead on lap fifteen.

Soon after on lap twenty a spate of incidents left several drivers on the infield including Phil Barton who hit the fence, defending Champion Warren Minshull who spun in turn three, and despite their best efforts, contact was going to be un-avoidable which eliminated Minshull, Peter Wallinger, Chris Pavlovich and Michael Nicola.

Pascoe started to open a lead on the opposition, as Ryan Alexander started to slip back through the field, with Darren Kane moving to second and Kodee Brown to third, but the battle for third was an intense one, with Dave Gartner and Brown swapping the position numerous times in the latter stages of the race.

Pascoe looked set to take the title with three laps remaining, having opened a commanding lead, but Gartner spun in front of Lucas Roberts.  Despite the contact not being severe Roberts would withdraw to the infield a lap after the restart, while Gartner’s hopes were dashed, being sent to the rear of the field.

The final three laps saw Pascoe again drive away from the field, with Darren Kane holding on to second place, a car length ahead of Kodee Brown. Ryan Alexander recovered to finish fourth.
