In the increasingly professional world of Super Sedan racing, drivers are becoming more and more dependant on the skill of their crew in preparing, repairing and maintaining equipment. Whilst there is always a dedicated team behind each driver that plays a critical role in providing the equipment to get the job done, it is the designated Crew Chief that is ultimately responsible for ensuring optimum performance every time the car hits the track. The 2007/2008 Carline Mufflers National Super Sedan Series will provide the ultimate test of skill and commitment for crew members as the congested schedule of 8 events in 24 days will require maximum efficiency and effectiveness in undertaking maintenance and repairs before, during and after each event.
In an effort to recognise the efforts of these dedicated crews, Weatherall Automotive Services are supporting the Crew Chief of the Year Award during the 2007/2008 Carline Mufflers National Super Sedan Series. This award acknowledges the efforts of all crew members involved in the series and rewards the individual whose performance as Crew Chief – determined across a number of criteria – is deemed to have been the most outstanding across the entire series schedule.
Company proprietor Dave Weatherall is renowned for his high standards in race car preparation and presentation, with his Australian Championship-winning Ford Taurus piloted by Michael Gee having been voted Best Presented Car during the inaugural National Super Sedan Series. Further testimony to Weatherall’s professional approach to racing is the news that he has signed Dupont Performance Coatings – one of the world’s biggest companies – as the major sponsor of his race team for the 2007/2008 season.
The Weatherall Automotive Services Crew Chief of the Year Award is a way of recognising and rewarding an individual who consistently performs to the highest standards in vehicle maintenance, preparation and presentation.
