The following is a copy of a statement made by Revolution Race Gear in relation to which of their suits meet the new requirement.

Quote – Dear Competitor,

As of July 1st 2008 NASR will be enforcing safety apparel standards as per the class specification manual.

There has been some confusion as to whether certain RPM racesuits comply to these standards so we have put together a directive.

1. RPM Clubsport – Single layer racesuit complies to SFI 3.2A/1. From 2006 RPM Clubsport suits have been supplied with SFI 3.2A/1 badge. If a competitor has an older RPM Clubsport suit without the SFI 3.2A/1 badge the suit should be replaced. In some cases we may be able to re-certify this suit if the garment is in NEW condition however Revolution HQ (Melbourne) would need to assess on a case by case basis taking into consideration the condition and age of the suit before re-certifying. A surcharge of $25.00 + transport costs would apply for re-certification.

2. RPM Mondial – 2 layer racesuit manufactured to FIA standard 8856-2000 and has not been certified to SFI 3.2A.

3. RPM Transam- 3 Layer racesuit manufactured to FIA standard 8856-2000 and has not been certified to SFI 3.2A.

4. RPM Protec – 3 Layer Shiny racesuit complies to SFI 3.2A/5 and all Protecs can be supplied with a SFI 3.2A/5 badge.

5. RPM X-Tech – 2 Layer Ultralight racesuit complies to FIA standard 8856-2000 and has not been certified to SFI 3.2A.

In summary, Revolution Racegear can only re-certify suits that could have been certified when manufactured. This would be assessed on a case by case basis taking into consideration the condition and age of the suit.
