2013 Modified Production Kings Royal

The South Burnett Speedway Club has great pleasure in announcing the “$10,000 to win” 2013 Modified Production Kings Royal, which will be the biggest and the richest Modified Production event to be ever held in Australia and its coming to Kingaroy Speedway in just over 12 months time, on 25th, 26th & 27th January, 2013 – Australia Day weekend.

This event will run a completely new, unique and never seen before format and racing will be held over 3 nights over the Australia Day Long weekend and in an attempt to ensure the event stay affordable for everyone to take part, there will be NO nomination fee and the club will have a special 3-day “heavily discounted” Super Pass that will save everyone a heap of coin.

The Kings Royal will incorporate time trials, multiple heat races and an all important 50 lap A Main and for those lucky 24 drivers that qualify will walk away from the weekend with at least $400. Not only will there be amazing trophies for the winners, but the trophy presentation will be fit for a king…

Let’s take a look at the format.

Night One – Friday 25th January, 2013.

Hotlaps
2 runs per car in groups of 5 cars
5 laps per group

Qualifying
2 runs per car in groups of 3 cars
3 laps per group
The Top 40 lap times from both qualifying sessions (overall merge) go straight through into Night Two
The rest of the field (so 41st fastest onwards), go into the Non-Qualifying heat races on Night One

Non-Qualifying Heats
Approx 10 cars per heat
1 round of heats
Starting positions based on qualifying times (overall merge)
Therefore 41st = pole in heat 1
42nd = pole in heat 2 etc

Qualifying Mini Features
Based on points from non qualifying round of heats and time trial lap times separating the tied point scorers
Mini Feature 1 – Qualifiers 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17,19,21,23,25,27,29,31,33,35
Mini Feature 2 – Qualifiers 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22,24,26,28,30,32,34,36

Top 10 finishes from each mini feature will transfer into the qualifying field for Night Two
For the remaining cars that don’t qualify for Night two, are finished until the last chance runs on Night Three

Night Two – Saturday 26th January, 2013.

Top 40 qualifiers (from time trials on Night One) + top 10 in each mini feature will make up the field for Night Two (So 60 cars only)

3 rounds of heats – normal draw
12 cars per heat – 12 laps per heat

Therefore 15 heat races on Night Two

Night Three – Sunday 27th January, 2013.

1 round of heats – normal draw (continued on from previous Night)
12 cars per heat -12 laps per heat
Therefore 5 heat races on Night Three

plus

Non-Qualifying Last Chance Heats – for the cars that didn’t qualify for night two
Approx 10 cars per heat
1 round of heats
Starting positions based on qualifying times from Night One (overall merge)

A Main – 50 laps
Qualifiers 1 – 20 + “top 4 from B”

B Main – 20 laps
Qualifiers 21 – 40 + “top 4 from C” with top 4 finishes going into the A Main

C Main – 20 laps
Qualifiers 41 – 60 = “top 4 from Last Chance” with top 4 finishes going into the B Main

Last Chance Main – 20 laps
Top 24 from the Non-Qualifying Last Chance Heat Races qualify for this race, were the top 4 transfer into the C Main

Payout for the weekend

Night One
All cars that fail to qualify for Night Two get $50

Night Two
All cars that qualify for Night Two get $100 bonus

Night Three
All cars that make the following Main events will get the following Prize Money
 
A Main = $23,500
1st $10000
2nd  $2500
3rd  $2000
4th  $1500
5th  $1000
6th  $500
7th  $500
8th  $500
9th  $400
10th $400
11th to 24th $300

B Main = $2,000
1st to 4th – Transfer to A Main
4th to 24th $100

C Main = $1,000
1st to 4th Transfer to B Main
4th to 24th $50

Last Chance Main – $1,000
1st to 4th Transfer to C Main
4th to 24th $50
 
Total Main Event Prize Money – $27500

Add to this the Night One & Two Minimum Qualifying and Non-Qualifying bonuses, and if close to 100 cars turn up for the event, the Kings Royal will pay over $35000.
With a whole host of sponsors lining up to get on board and a whole host of special activities planned for the entire weekend, this is going to be a sensational event and a “must see & must do” show for anyone that loves Modified Production racing.
